I worked in health and social care for over 20 years with a particular focus on mental health and wellbeing prior to retraining as a counsellor/psychotherapist. I am interested in how our past and our present impacts on how we feel, behave and interact in all areas of our lives.
I am endlessly curious about people, how we feel and think about ourselves and our lives. I have always enjoyed working closely with individuals who want to make changes and think about issues that are impacting on them.
I am experienced in working with both young people and adults with a wide range of issues and difficulties including anxiety, stress, grief, post-natal depression, workplace issues, relationship problems and many other life issues. I worked for several years as staff counsellor in a large Scottish university as well as in more generic counselling services prior to starting my own private practice.
I am fully qualified, insured and registered with the appropriate professional bodies as detailed here:
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Wellbeing, Counselling and Psychotherapy (with Distinction) – University of Aberdeen.
I am an Accredited Registered Member (MBACP 374432) of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am bound by their Ethical Framework.
I hold Professional Protection and Public Liability Insurance with the Psychologist Protection Society Trust.
If you would like to contact me then please email or phone. I aim to respond within 24 hours wherever possible.
When life is challenging and situations feel unmanageable it can be useful to take a step back and talk to a professional to make sense of how you feel and what is happening. If you would like to contact me please email or phone.
